The Evolving Supervisor: A Comprehensive BACS Refresher for Clinical Excellence

This comprehensive 3- Hour Virtual-In Person/Synchronous Interactive Learning refresher course is designed for Louisiana Licensed Clinical Social Workers who hold the Board Approved Clinical Supervisor (BACS) credential and are required to complete renewal training every two years. This training provides an in-depth review of core supervisory competencies while integrating contemporary supervision challenges, ethical standards, regulatory expectations, and evolving best practices.

Participants will revisit foundational supervisory principles including supervision models, documentation standards, boundary management, evaluation processes, and the ethical responsibilities of the supervisor. The course will also address complex supervisory dynamics such as parallel process, countertransference in supervision, the helper role, and group supervision considerations.

Special attention will be given to supervision in the digital era, including tele-supervision standards, documentation requirements, boundaries in electronic communication (email, text, social media), and risk management strategies.
